Our Story
Meet Camellia, the passionate entrepreneur behind Houston Kitchen. At a young age, Camellia developed a passion for creating and cooking while watching her grandmother make homemade torshi. "Each grandchild would get a jar of their own. It was such a beautiful experience. Each bottle was filled with stories, voices, hardworking, community, tradition and history" - she says.
Camellia spent countless hours redeveloping and recreating the delicacy that her family passed on to her. She discovered possibly the best combination of fresh ingredients and preparation techniques for torshi - torshi that's light, refreshing, crisp but still rich in sour and smokey flavours that blend harmoniously together. "It takes time for each ingredient to flourish in its own way. Each ingredient needs another ingredient to come together. They all need each other, like Broadway, for the show to go on."
